St Emilion Evening
We have navigated this little lane a number of times over the few days here. It is SO steep, (at what point did they make stairs)
But the amazing thing is, the cobble stones have weathered and worn and as smooth as glass. They are so slippery, it’s fun to watch everyone try to negotiate its path. The strangest thing, there is a caneles shop half way down, and you just about have to stand on one leg to buy a cake. (The first little red shop on the right) We strongly recommend good flat footwear.
This was the restaurant we had our meal in last night , L’Envers du Decor . Great food and atmosphere . It’s wall we’re lined with of wine boxes, and the tables had wine box tops as well .
We shared a Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder on these metallic gold plates , Honey Carrots and Cous Cous , washed down with a glass of St Emilion Grands Crus Class Red . We enjoyed the whole experience .
